I wanted to share with you a little bit about why we created our summer season reading program.
For me, it was since of my students.
Over the years of mentor in my personal knowing center, moms and dads would bring their kids to me that lagged in reading and spelling.

In some cases they were simply a little bit behind, often they were way behind, and often they were at grade level and simply wanted to progress faster.
Often this was since the students had discovering troubles like dyslexia and ADHD. Other times, this was simply because the instructors did not teach all of the specific abilities required to read.

How could I get these students' skills up while not just providing a band-aid option?
Standard tutors often simply work on research. This does not address the root cause of students' troubles and does not in fact get their skills up.
So, I went to the research and what I gained from my coaches in my early years of mentor.
I found that brief activities typically produce better results than long labored work.

The program does take some involvement from a parent for grades K-2, however for grades 3-8, many kids can do most activities in the program by themselves.
